1) What is Hypnosis? |
| |
Your body is relaxed, and therefore your conscious does not need to move parts of your body and so looks on from the side. Your mind then enters a state similar to the one before you enter sleep and before you awaken. In this state you are neither fully awake, nor fully asleep. The information from your senses is enhanced into a Heightened Sense of Awareness which protects you. |

2) How does the mind work? |
| |
A popular explanation is that our minds probably work on two levels. The smaller conscious part of the mind is involved in the logical thought process. The vast subconscious zone controls all the automated body processes and stores our memories. Everything we have ever experienced is stored in the subconscious. Beliefs from our childhood, habits and most important limiting beliefs that are affecting us in a negative way are stored in the subconscious region. |

3) How does hypnosis work? |
| |
In the very relaxed state experienced in hypnosis our mind is open to positive suggestions. The subconscious mind steps forward to protect us in this heightened state of awareness. The suggestions are absorbed directly by the subconscious. |

4) Why do I still smoke even after using a self hypnosis tape? |
| |
With a self hypnosis tape you are just working with suggestion. There is always a choice with suggestions. Part of you is not completely convinced that you want to give up smoking. It becomes a waiting game because the suggestions wear off. Then that part of you that still wants to smoke reasserts itself. The solution is to use advanced structured hypnosis. Suggestion hypnosis can be an incomplete technique.

5) What is advanced structured hypnosis? |
| |
Advanced structured Hypnosis goes further than suggestions. We communicate with the subconscious mind. We talk directly to the part of you that has doubts about change, and point out the benefits of the change that you want. Finally the transformation is sealed with a bit of NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) |

8) Am I asleep? |
| |
No. Advanced Hypnotherapy, NLP and Theta are interactive and require dialogue. You have to work with the therapist and respond by talking and answering questions during the session. This would not be possible if you were asleep.
You do not go to sleep, but to the outside world it looks like you are asleep. That is why the term Hypnosis came from the Greek word for sleep.
